From a 12-piece blues band to an intimate sing-along trio. Here are the musical projects I am currently involved in.

UI•IO

Four musicians, one sound. Well-known songs by Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, Elvis, The Jackson 5, Leonard Cohen and more – reinterpreted in surprising ways. The arrangements move seamlessly between Neo-Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Minimal-Pop. Sometimes whispering, sometimes powerful. UI•IO is not a typical cover band.

The band consists of Ralf Heilmann (Keys), Christoph Cramer (Drums), Mathias Roth (Bass), and myself (Vocals).

Keller Mountain Blues Band featuring Alex Teubner and Nadin Albrecht

Keller Mountain Blues Band

Active in Upper Franconia since 1985 and long established as an institution. Twelve musicians, two lead vocalists – Nadin Albrecht and myself –, a groovy rhythm section, and a brass section (the famous Mountain Horns) that leaves nothing to be desired. The repertoire ranges from blues and funk to soul and R&B, always featuring original custom arrangements.

The band has performed at the Jazzweekend in Regensburg, Katharinenruine in Nuremberg, and as an opening act for Luther Allison.

Hot Cargo

Eleven top musicians bringing 60s music straight into the present. Five horn players, three drummers, bass, keyboards, and a lead singer. Powerful, grooving, jazzy, and refreshingly different. Hot Cargo takes famous pieces apart and rebuilds them – without historic reverance, but with immense feel for the original source.

Hopp Sing

Singing makes you happy! Hopp Sing is a community sing-along project with Alex Teubner (cajon, vocals), Bernd Weller (bass, vocals), and Rainer Turba (guitar, vocals). Since 2018, we invite everyone to sing, laugh, and listen together to songs everybody knows and has sung out loud in the shower or car.
